TEMU Cracks Down on Sellers Underreporting Tariffs (Effective February 3, 2025)

TEMU has updated its compliance terms for Southeast Asian sellers, requiring that the declared value of goods does

not deviate by more than 5% from the actual selling price.

Non-compliant stores may face risks such as frozen funds or expulsion.

warehouses.

Malaysian Customs Intensifies Inspection of "Sensitive Goods" (February 8, 2025)

Starting in 2025, Malaysia has increased inspections on cross-border e-cigarettes, battery-containing products, food, and other

sensitive goods. Some sellers have faced cargo seizures due to incomplete certifications, resulting in an average customs clearance delay of 3-7 days.

Merchants are advised to conduct pre-qualification reviews to ensure that products have necessary certifications such as SIRIM

and Halal. Sensitive goods are recommended to be prioritized for overseas warehouse distribution to avoid the risks associated with direct

mail customs clearance.
